GTF Student Housing Parent-Student Philosophy
We realize that sending your son or daughter to college is a time of tremendous transition for your family. All students go through an adjustment period and experience many ups and downs while living away from home. There are many resources here on campus available for your student to manage this transition successfully.
The Student Housing staff works to empower each resident by working directly with them, providing support so they may work through the challenges that they might encounter while living in a community. This enables us to establish a relationship with your student and helps to get to the core of the issues more efficiently. We do welcome parent input and questions at any time. Our goal is to provide parents with the resources which they can pass on to their student to help them to help themselves.
It is important that students have support and encouragement from home while being allowed to mature through their own experiences. The staff at GTF Student Housing wants you to be there for your student, but let him or her handle his or her challenges as much as possible, after all your student’s success is dependent upon his or her ability to function independently.
The GTF Student Housing priority deadline for Spring 2012 has passed, though applications will still be accepted. Applications for Fall 2012 housing will be accepted beginning in March. Please contact our office if you have questions.
